One Warm Line:
Coppermine River by Raft, from Rocknest Lake to the Arctic Ocean,
July 23rd to August 3rd, 2014
Fifteen intrepid souls embarked on an adventure to raft the wild Coppermine River through Canada's Northwest Territories and Nunavut to the Arctic Ocean. Here is our story set in historical context...
Day 11, Saturday, August 2,
Shooting Bloody Falls (Well, Most of It)

Greg gets set to tackle Bloody Falls, and Max readies to push him off. Everything is strapped down tightly.
The first raft (left) heads through and seems to make it through oaky (inset). It is unclear which raft this is.
This sequence of images shows the second two rafts coming through, with Doug piloting the large red raft at the rear. It looks like Greg is in the first of the two rafts.
Both rafts head to the east bank to catch the backwater below and avoid getting swept over the final drop of the falls.

Doug is about to disappear behind the clilff.
With the frist three rafts through, Doug ferries the pilots to the west side to hike back over the path to the top of the rapids to bring the remaining three rafts through.

Doug brings three intrepid pilots to the west bank. They will hike the trail to the top of the rapids and bring the three remaining rafts to the east side pool area. Thanks Nick, Karl and Greg (shown with Doug) who will team up with Max, Luke and Ben.

This round, Ben and Karl are the first to dock.
Greg and Luke come in second.
Completing the operation, Max and Nick bring the final raft safely in.
